Pō Whakangahau
featuring the Tuari Brothers
Join us for a celebratory evening of kai and waiata at the end of day two, of our three-day exhibition Uhi Tai, showcasing the Tangaroa Ararau project. This special event will feature live music by R&B/Soul trio, the Tuari Brothers, who will perform an exclusive debut of a waiata specially composed for the exhibition and songs from their debut album ‘Rongo’.
This whakangahau will bring together the contributing artists, researchers, and creatives who have contributed to the project. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to engage directly with the minds behind the project, learn from their insights, view the art exhibition, and share in the celebrations.
Whether you are deeply involved in te taiao, passionate about te ao Māori, or simply curious about what tikanga-led marine governance looks like, we invite you to join us for an evening of waiata, art and kōrero.
If you would like to attend this event, please complete the registration form below to secure your spot.
ABOUT THE TUARI BROTHERS
The Tuari Brothers channel themes of cultural identity, whānau, love and life through te reo Māori lyric, rhyme and song. Unique to this trio, is a warm, masculine and compelling sound that resonates so well because as brothers they have a similar timbre and attitude to music, dance and performance. All brothers are seasoned kapa haka exponents, vocalists, composers and music arrangers.
